Shan has made so many false accusations and misleading claims that I can’t realistically address them all here. But I hope to shed light on some things and clear up enough misinformation to show her pattern of dishonesty. This is a pattern that extends throughout her entire statement and into the resulting smear campaign.

Shan publicly lied about rape. Shan also mislead people into thinking I reached out to her as a teenager even though she was actually 25 at the time. These narratives (and many others of hers) still persist and Shan has not tried to correct them despite their being verifiably untrue. I’ve come to the conclusion that Shan has taken this whole thing so far that she is no longer willing to publicly tell the truth. Shan apologizes and admits the truth privately then turns around and encourages and perpetuates the lies publicly.

I have countless texts, emails and voice messages of Shan talking freely about what really happened between us, many of them are followed by her apologizing for lying about me publicly. She has many times acknowledged her cruel and abusive behaviors. Shan has described her actions as a result of her unhealthy responses to a relationship ending. She has confessed that she can have very extreme reactions when she “loses love” or feels abandoned. 

I also have endless audio and text messages of Shan being verbally abusive towards me. It was always completely unprovoked and sometimes while I had been no contact and was unresponsive for weeks or even months at a time. This baffled me. Shan would say such unbelievably cruel and unsettling things about me and then would have meltdowns at me when I went no contact and didn't respond to that abuse. She'd often write me hundreds of text messages a week when I wasn't responding. 

Shan would often demand that I respond, and then she would issue threats of escalating her public attacks if and when I did not answer her. Shan sometimes even issued threats of physical violence. Over the years she has sent thousands upon thousands of consecutive, unwanted and unanswered messages harassing me. Shan would sometimes promptly delete her messages minutes after sending them, leaving me with hundreds of “unsent message” notifications. This is all very well documented. 

The reality of this entire situation is very very different from what has been presented publicly by Shan, by her helpers, and throughout their smear campaign.

I also have screenshots showing that Shan tried reaching out to Ethan Kath, who she fully knew has many allegations against him of assaulting teenage girls, including my friend Alice Glass. Shan has also shared that she was in extensive contact with Edith Frances, who works for Ethan, and Shan has alleged that they planned and executed this smear campaign together. Shan has alleged that Edith was not only helping her, but pressuring her. Shan has been switching sides, and a lot of it seems to be based around which side is giving her more consistent attention and validation. In the moments when Shan expressed remorse and insisted she was going to come forward with the truth, I sometimes caved and engaged with her. During those times Shan would sometimes volunteer evidence supporting her claims of Edith’s involvement. Some of that has been presented here.

Shan has given confessions, apologies, and she’s promised more times than I can count that she would clear up all the devastating lies she’s told about me, but she always stops short of any public accountability and eventually returns to the public attacks and the private harassment and abuse.

So why did I keep letting this happen to myself? Why would I ever engage with someone who’s said such horrible things about me? Why would I let myself be played in Shan's back and forth games? Maybe its because there was a time when I genuinely very deeply loved her and a part of that never fully went away. I believed there was so much good in her that I ignored all the warnings that told me otherwise. I really wanted to believe in something good. And when she kept betraying me I still wanted to think that there was somehow hope on the other side of this nightmare.

I was stupid. 

I've been falsely accused of a lot of horrible things I didn't do. This was all calculated and orchestrated by some very motivated people, not just Shan. And having to address and somehow correct a situation like this has felt overwhelming, maybe even impossible. 

Shan knows the truth. She has many times expressed her desire to correct things and make everything right again. Time and time again I foolishly believed her. I felt I had to. She had me believing that she was the only one that could undo all the harm she had caused. That she was the poison and the antidote. That was part of her game, and it’s how she's kept herself in my life. I think maybe part of me still wanted her there too. I wanted to see the person I once thought I loved. But I understand now that person was probably never really there. 

Not only have Shan’s false allegations against me been used to try to harm my image and career, they have been twisted to try to discredit and invalidate the real experiences of Alice Glass and the many others that have spoken out about Ethan Kath. Shan's actions haven’t ever been about exposing any truths or helping actual victims of abuse. I have many reasons to believe that Shan was not only trying to dismantle my image and career for her own agenda, but that she was also being used as a pawn to try and discredit Alice Glass’ past with Ethan by attempting to make me look just as grotesque and abusive.

Shan if you ever read this, although not everything can be fixed or undone, I still believe it’s never too late to do the right thing.
